HOW TO ENTER THE RACE

ENTY DEADLINE

By post: Letters posted 1st class and postmarked no later than the Friday two weeks before
Good Friday will be accepted.

By Hand. Entries handed to the Entries Secretary personally at the Waterside D race will
also be accepted.

There are no Late Entries.

All entrants should read the rules in full - see DW2014 Rules.

2014 NEW Rule: For DW 2014 the Proof of Age requirement introduced last year is now extended to all classes.

It has come to the organisers' attention that there have been attempts to enter under-age competitors in some of the Stages race classes in recent editions of the DW Race. This is a clear breach of the race rules.

The age limits are in place for good reasons and the organisers will not accept entries from paddlers who do not meet the age requirements of the various classes.

To prevent ineligible entries, entrants in all classes of the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race must now provide evidence of their date of birth when registering their entry.

The only form of proof that will be allowed is a photocopy of the paddler's birth certificate or their passport.

Crews must bring this proof with them to Registration Check-in at Devizes. Any crew which fails to provide such proof may not be permitted to start.

Details of age restrictions are contained in the separate class rules.

Choose which class you wish to enter.

The options are:

  Senior Doubles
crew of 2 adults, non-stop (adult age: 18 or above on 1st Jan 2013)
  Senior Singles
crew of 1 adult, over 4 days (adult age: 18 or above on 1st Jan 2013)
  Junior Doubles
crew of 2 juniors, over 4 days (junior age: 15 or above and under 19 on 1st Jan 2013)
  Veteran Junior
1 adult and 1 junior, over 4 days (adult age: 35 or above on 1st Jan 2013 junior age: 15 or above and under 19 on 1st Jan 2013)
  Endeavour
crew of 2 (2 adults or 1 adult and 1 junior), over 4 days, non-competitive (no timings given) (adult age: 19 or above on 1st Jan 2013 junior age: 15 or above and under 19 on 1st Jan 2013)

Please ensure that you are eligible for the class chosen. For full qualification criteria, please check the Class Rules. We urge those expecting to take over 28 hours in the Senior Doubles event to consider entering the Endeavour class instead to avoid placing excessive demands on our volunteer marshals and checkpoint crews.

Note the required entry fee:

  Senior Doubles £150
  Senior Singles £110
  Junior Doubles £225
  Veteran Junior £175
  Endeavour £175
