WESTMINSTER & THE FINISH
Finish Village
By kind permission of St Thomas's Hospital, DW establishes a series of marquees in the garden of the hospital. These provide changing room and shower facilities, a canteen preparing hot food for paddlers, a tea and coffee point for supporters and the DW merchandise shop.
The Finish
The race finishes just downstream of Westminster Bridge and paddlers and their boats are brought ashore at a flight of stairs in front of County Hall by the Steps Crew. Please note that these stairs and the walkway in front of County Hall are private property and we are only granted access on condition that we do not cause an obstruction to members of the public. Keep well back from the area at the top of the stairs and respect the instructions of marshals.
Please remember also that this has been designated a no-alcohol area by the police so any celebratory champagne should be opened and drunk elsewhere.
To keep the steps access area clear, supporters are asked to take boats directly to their own vehicles, or to the Hospital Gardens where there is ample space. Unfortunately there is no ideal place for boats to be loaded but it is fairly easy to walk boats from the Gardens to the main road fronting the hospital.
Parking
Support crews are permitted to use the car park of St Thomas's Hospital, for which a charge will be payable. Space is limited so please do not use the car park for longer than necessary.
